Original printed antique German feed grain pillow. Most of our sacks date back to 1800s to early 1900s. They were handwoven by the farmer’s wives with natural hemp and linen. They are marked with beautiful calligraphy or handwriting in tar ink. The farmer’s name, their town, sack number and year was stamped on them for identification and inventory purposes. Some rare sacks have a stenciled or hand drawn sign or mark that depicts a farm tool, the owner’s occupation or a farm animal. Machine washable.
